I decided I love:
my eyelashes,
my fingernails,
and my butt.
I do not like trying to take pictures of them with a phone. The flash on the first is deliberate to obscure my features; you can see almost the entire dorm room in the fingernails photo; the angle I tried at first made my butt look rounder, which wasn't really my point.
I mostly had to accept compliments on Friday, since I wore make-up for an interview. (People will comment when you do something above the usual to look nice.) I accepted it because I'm proud of my make-up skills, and I tried something new. The main color on my eyes is one I've only used for evening looks and I was happy I could adapt it to a day look. (Metallic emerald is not a standard day color by any means.)
I usually try to compliment my friends, but I ramped it up. And yes, many of my compliments got brushed off. I just have to keep to it until they believe me.
I still need to work on my self-image but I loved hearing everyone else's stories and hope we keep to the tenets of the challenge even though Body Image Week is over.

Thanks. It took me awhile to love it (and I begin to hate it quite often when shopping for pants), so I thought it perfect to re-appreciate it this week.

cute butt...these posts have been interesting. I'm pretty happy with my body image, except the stomach region, which puffed out since I got married...so we are working out on Wii fit...to get back in shape.

Great results post! So nice to hear a young woman say they love things about their bodies - so often in my dance classes I hear my students complain about themselves (one of the pitfalls of hanging around a) other dancers and b) a room full of mirrors!).

@NotNessie: Thanks! When I was a little girl, I thought long, painted nails looked so pretty. I grew mine long because I didn't understand they were fake! Oddly, I prefer not to paint them.

@Leigh: It doesn't help that you're wearing a leotard and tights in a room full of mirrors! I always disliked that my hips and thighs were bigger than the other girls - no way to hide that! (Okay, so I wore a skirt when I was on my period.)

@Bookworm: Thank you! I do wear mascara with some eyeshadows that have a tendency to get on the eyelashes - it redarkens them. But I use a very basic kind. If I use the fancy lengthener stuff I end up looking like Minnie Mouse.
